I was very, very impressed with my first experience seeing a MLB Spring Training Game in the Cactus League, The Colorado Rockies vs The LA Dodgers at Salt River Fields in the brand new Talking Stick Park in Scottsdale, AZ.
It was an official MLB field but in a much smaller stadium, perfect venue to spend an afternoon and enjoy the AZ sunshine, cold beer and top notch stadium food. The entire outfield is grass for the fans to lay out on beach blankets and be apart of the place to be. It looked like a grass beach in a baseball desert. See pictures.
Everybody was partying, a college like atmosphere, fans representing their favorite teams, in this social sporting hotspot in Scottsdale. If you are a baseball fan and want to be with thousands of your own kind from all parts of the country check this place out!
I highly recommend taking in a game at this facility the next time your in AZ during the spring months or when you take your next family man's spring break.

Sheppard's Pie, Summit Grill and Bar, Lees Summit, MO
I have already reviewed this restaurant in Lees Summit, MO in a previous post, but I had to post these pictures of their special St. Paddy's Day Dinner Selection - Sheppard's Pie - FANTASTIC, ask for it!
Food Review: Morton's Steakhouse, Scottsdale, AZ
Food Review: Morton’s
Steakhouse – Scottsdale, AZ
Well , it finally happened, I had hands down the best
24 oz. Chicago Style bone in rib eye of my life! See picture attached. The picture does not give it justice, this steak was absolutely ridiculous.
I had never been to a Morton’s restaurant before, and this
was a real treat. A very creamy and not
too thick lobster bisque started the meal (see picture) paired with a stiff Manhattan
with Makers Mark topped with marachino cherries. The bisque did not fill you up, which was a
good thing... because more times than not a bisque is to heavy or over does the
brandy on top. Morton’s did not and I
was eating the broth up as fast I could like finishing up the milk in a bowl of
Cheerios, deeelisshh!
Now, the steak – BRUTAL!!, the Chicago Style bone in rib eye
24 oz. came out with a nice crispy charred crust and bringing a smoky aroma of holy shit this going to be good! As I graciously cut into it, I was rewarded to a picture perfect medium rare inside,
warm, buttery, satisfying and it tasted delicious.
Side dishes were lionase potatos with grilled onions, roasted brussel
sprouts and earthy green creamed spinach with plum mushrooms bursting with flavor, just like you were eating from the garden, outstanding!
I inhaled the bisque, the steak, apps.. I ate the whole damn thing feeling overly full but well worth the little discomfort which eventually
subsided.. because of…
The Hot Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream Dessert! (see
picture). This is a dessert that has to
be ordered in advance because the chocolate melts inside the cake and keeps it
warm, so when you cut into the crispy crust, out she comes.. plus with the vanilla ice
cream, it gives it a sensational finish.
A very big thank you goes out to Dr. MJ for inviting me with
him and his associate, Dr. G., excellent evening out from our technology work
weekend in Scottsdale!
If you have a chance to eat at a Morton’s, EAT AT MORTON’S!
KC COMICON 2015!
Greetings Earthlings,
KC Comicon 2015 was awesome. A gathering of like minded individuals, It catered to every fan and accepted people for all of their diverse interests in comic books, science fiction, horror, TV, fantasy, movies, books, posters, memorabilia, classic retro SCIFI entertainment, Star Wars, Marvel Characters and everything else under the stratosphere.
With the immense popularity of San Diego COMICON, these events get bigger and bigger each year. This years convention was the biggest ever in KC. The excellent TV shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and many others creates more of a cool vibe at these events, not just for the dorks playing Dungeon's and Dragon's games. Plus, I loved the addition of more vending areas with large $7 beers, very fun to walk around with my son and have a few. definitely a nice addition for the casual fans and those not in costumes.
My son Harrison is 5.5 years old, his enjoyment and excitedness is all worth it. I'm a Sci Fi lover at heart, and have always enjoyed the original Star Wars..but to see my son gravitate into another area of interest in addition to his multiple sports following is really cool.
I encourage "The Cool Professional" to attend these events and.. DORKS UNITE!!

Movie Review: Unfinished Business
Ouch! Talk about a let down movie with zero humor from Vince Vaughn. It's really that bad and Dave Franco.. Dude you are not funny, who told you to act like that?
The premise is sales and landing a big deal with Vince Vaughn's small team of workers vs. the big giant competitor.. What exactly are they selling or providing?? I have know idea, truthfully, because the movie never fully explains it!
The ONLY thing good about this movie is how Vince Vaughn is still trying to help his family and kids with their growing up issues over Skype because he's in Europe. Good message for the traveling bus man.
Sorry Vince..I love you and all your history but, "Unfinished Business" is Finished.

Movie Review: Paddington
Friday night 5:00 family movie, excellent choice. It's family friendly in every level if you have kids from 3-6or 7.
It's British themed. Clever storyline for the kids to follow and another feather in the cap for Nicole Kidmans acting roles! Cute CG bear and clever family special effects and silly kid related humor.
Fun, happy, and will satisfy everyone. Watch it with the family and popcorn.

Movie Review: 50 Shades of Grey
Dakota Johnson is naked. Oh now she's getting spanked, and spanked ..and whipped with leather., oh and there she is again, yep naked as a jay bird again, outstanding. "Wooosh..SnapCrack!!@.. Goes the whip.
Confused,? Yeah me too. But I can see the incredible following these books had and now a "Spankbuster" movie for women who had 3 glasses of wine before snickering amongst themselves in the theatre.
It's Bizarre. I was like.. what the hell? My wife, who had read all the books was satisfied with the vie, but like we've always heard., ? the book is much better than the movie.
Not bad, Christian Grey wears unbelievable suits throughout, and then becomes the "Demonitor role" and graciously lets's Anastasia stay in his "guest bedroom." after his Wide World of Sports. Huge props to Dakota Johnson for baring all for millions to see. But man it's weird. Good flick for your girlfriends or wife's DVDs collection. And I must add, great soundtrack!

Movie Review: American Sniper
The hype and politically charged atmosphere around this movie are well justified. I felt like a witness to a mans military life while watching this and you feel like you are in Iraq with him and our brave soldiers.
On the flip side, you as the viewer are also transported back to the U.S. with Chris Kyle when he goes back to his life outside of the war.. Deals with his developing life, feel just as awkward as he does..and then voluntarily go back to defend our country. He is a FRIEKING bad ass MF, or as he is referred to in the movie "Legend." War, Home, War, Home with kids, War, Home with two kids, War, home for good...
Bradley Cooper as cemented his acting career for life. There is not one director, producer or Hollywood studio that would not want him in any of their films.
Incredible movie. And something that I felt immediately after seeing this movie .. A regular action movie on TV whatever it was if it had guns or shooting.. I felt numb and wanted to change the channel immediately. American Sniper will leave you with the feeling of exhaustion and still wiping the sweat and dust from your brow.. You are in this movie, it's that real.
RIP Chris Kyle and thanks to USA soldiers.

Movie Review: "CHAPPIE"
Should you see this movie,? Yes, only if you've seen District 9 or Elysium or if you like urban futuristic and robotic warfare.
76.7 C.
Watching it I wanted to like it, then I hated it. Why? In my opinion it's rough watching a child (or in this case the whole premise of the movie dealing with a new born Artificially Intelligent robot) born into a world filled with crime and violence. The worst part,? His parents are criminals and teach him his first lessons in crime.
Not cool on that end.. The "Maker" Actor Dev Patel (who is a solid actor from HBO's series the Newsroom is great). He teaches "Chappie" what's right and wrong in his new borns life. Completely underutilized as an actor in this movie, but you finally get to see him take over the father figure role to Chappie.
The special effects are outstanding, you feel for Chappie, his emotions and what he goes through, but it doesn't save this movie, even with a decent performance by the villain Robot creator Hugh Jackman.
However, it is worth watching once.. Especially to see the possibility of AI and robotic ideas for our future. The story takes a complete and compelling good natured and AI abstract turn in the last part of the movie, great finish.. but not a great movie.
Wait and see on Cable. C
